Not all types of Vitamin C are created equally! Well-known ascorbic acid is Vitamin C in its raw water-soluble form. Unfortunately, it is very unstable and oxidizes and loses efficacy once exposed to air. While L-ascorbic acid is the form that the skin utilizes, its acidic pH causes redness and sensitivity. Pevonia overcomes instability and sensitivity in this natural skin care serum by using skin-friendly MAP C (magnesium ascorbyl phosphate) encapsulated in state of the art Oxyzomes, to achieve beautifully glowing results.
Due to their antioxidant free radical and age defense properties, we also use Ascorbyl Glucoside, Calcium Ascorbate, THDA (tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate), and Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate forms of Vitamin C in many of our other natural skin care products.
